I like The Creeps...but I just can't stand all the Anime Hoopla image.

Like I said on another thread, I thought 2002 was a much better year for music than last year. I think the scene has been rather dull of late. Just my two cents. [img]wink.gif[/img]

HEY CARL I THOUGHT THE SAME WHEN I WENT MARRIED (BEING MY WIFE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF EVERYTHING)...THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!!! HA HA HA (JUST A JOKE!!! ONE MISTAKE LIKE THAT CAN'T STAND TEN YEARS!!!) BUT WAIT, I NEVER GOT A HAIRCUT AND HAIR WAS (ONE [img]wink.gif[/img] ) OF THE DETAILS WHICH BETTER IMPRESSED MRS D'MARK WHEN SHE KNEW ME!!!

To me, I think they are decent, but it's the vocals that keeps me from thinking they are great.
Not that the vocals are terrible, it's just that the first thing I ever heard from Peppermint Creeps was the demo that Marky D'Sade sang on, and I absolutely loved it (Stupid, Lesbian, I'll Be there for you)....and this is before I ever heard Macy's voice, so when I heard the other PC songs, along with the new versions of those 3, I just didn't feel the same magic.....and it kind of put the band in the avg. category for me.
Of course, it would be hard to follow Marky's vocals cuz he'z alwayz been one of my faves.
And I can't wait to hear more stuff from him and Revlon Red. If the PC ever came on tour up here, I would definately check it out though!

<font face="comic sans">There are alot of 'glam' bands out there still doing it, I mean, just because they draw inspiration from other genres, they're still 'glam'...I mean, look at Killingbird...They're still kicking ass(as always) and what about bands like Bubble? They're kinda glam, right? not bubblegum glam, but still, I'm counting it. Beautiful Creatures are still playing(going to see them on Thursday)PBF is still trying(gotta at least give them THAT much...) Oh AND...soon The Mistakes will be playing again too...."blood and glitter" will for sure be released in '04 and they will also be putting "straight outta reseda" on enhanced cd, with the videos for Board, DUI, and Tomorrow....
Once they're playing again, people will say "peppermint-who??" hahah. Okay maybe not THAT intense, but seriously, I think they'll have a pretty big impact(again)but I'm not into the Peppermint Creeps. Great guys, but it's not my thing. </font>

I checked them out a few months ago. I'd agree with Carl. I thought for a modern day band the production was really crappy. I could do a better quality recording in my apartment.

I heard Crystal Pistol are demoing for Universal Music...maybe they can inject the sleaze back into rock n' roll

MARKY, I dont guess the scene is in coma, even is not the best moment, if you are able to look outside L.A.,USA, there are more great bands..like ROBIN BLACK AND THE IRS or HARDCORE SUPERSTAR just to say any of them

Hopefully P.B.F. will keep putting out stuff, plus i picked up the Penny Lane-Anthology/Peppermint Creeps-Both/Crystal Pistol-Demos,Coming Soon Revlon Red-CD!!!Perris records keeps adding to the list!Now if we can only get other Glam/Sleaze bands to release more Anthology's like Penny Lane that would be awesome!!! I'd rather buy the demos from the bands and support the scene than have someone making tons of money on e bay strictly for the cash and not the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
